Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the NIH-funded laboratory of Dr. Jingyan Han at Boston University School of Medicine, Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute in Boston, MA. We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join a research team working together to investigate the redox-dependent mechanisms that drive vascular endothelial cell dysfunction associated with metabolic disorders, aging, and alcohol abuse. The laboratory uses multiple approaches including gene knockout, overexpression, and site-directed mutation in cell culture, isolated primary endothelial cells from mouse models and human subjects, ex vivo and in vivo vascular function assays, conditional tissue-specific transgene or knockout mice, and mouse models of atherosclerosis, aging, and excessive alcohol consumption. Qualified applicants are those who have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with strong background in vascular biology or related fields. Candidates should have prior experience of animal handling/colony management/surgical techniques, primary cell culture, and molecular biology. They will also use bioinformatics tools to analyze omics-data. Ideal candidates will have the ability to independently design, conduct, and troubleshoot experiments, and to collect, analyze and interpret data in preparation for manuscript publication.
Interested candidates can directly email tojingyanh@bu.edu: a detailed curriculum vita and a brief statement of research and career goals.
